Stimulus funding, lean production methods highlight PCI Convention agenda

PCI announces a July 31 early-bird discounted registration for its 2009 Convention and Exhibition, scheduled for September 12–15 in San Antonio. The Federal Highway Administration is a cosponsor of the PCI National Bridge Conference, staged concurrently with the PCI Convention.
Conference highlights include multiple sessions providing tools to navigate a challenging economy, including The Economic Stimulus Era and the Concrete Structures Industry; Lean Economy, Lean Manufacturing; and, Financial Management in an Economic Downturn. Also on the conference agenda are sustainability courses and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) training to aid engineers, architects, and allied construction industry professionals. Peer-reviewed technical sessions, exhibition-only hours, and networking events with precast/prestressed concrete producers and erectors, industry suppliers, DOT and federal highway representatives, engineers, architects, academics, and experts worldwide add value for conference attendees, organizers affirm.
