Proudfoot introduces acoustical CMU
Proudfoot Co., a Monroe, Conn.-based developer of acoustical correction, noise control and specialty concrete masonry units, has become the U.S. distributor for Sound Cell. The new architectural masonry unit has a skewed internal construction to focus and redirect reflected sound into a sound-absorbing cavity, diminishing room loudness.
Sound Cell's slot-type Helmhotz volume resonator offers multiple levels of sound relief at most frequencies, product engineers report. The unit provides improvement of overall sound quality, reduction of flutter echo, reduced room resonance, noise elimination and loudness reduction. Sound Cell joins a line of value-added CMU — Flowblox, Noisemaster and Soundblox — for which Proudfoot licenses production in North America. — 800/445-0034, www.soundcell.biz
